COMMODITY BUYER
What does the job of Commodity Buyer look like?
In our PC at Robassomero the Commodity Buyer is part of a team of around 15 people in Sourcing, Supplier & Incoming Goods Quality, ensuring the best supply chain is installed and properly working. The Team makes sure the purchased goods and services are handled and organized in the most efficient way, and works to optimize Cost, Quality, Delivery, and with a special focus on the Sustainability of the supply chain. By cooperating with your colleagues and external Business Partners you will take care of supporting our commodities, initiate new projects and follow up existing ones, in order to furtherly improve our supply base key performance indicators.
What we expect from you?
We are looking for a high-energy performer, a doer, willing to put in the extra effort needed to meet the demands of the job. Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as a hands-on mentality would be ideal for this role. Being well organized, self motivated and able to work under pressure will be crucial. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and leadership skills are key.
You Also Have
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in the areas of Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in sourcing area in manufacturing companies.
- Demonstrated expertise in procurement and supply management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate prices, terms & conditions, contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office basic tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Knowledge of compressor business is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of specific Office365 tools such as SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Project is a plus. Experience working with legacy systems such as AS400, BPCS.
What will you deal with in this role?
Assists departments with following purchasing procedures, as well as following up on their orders to ensure that deliveries are timely; Prepares reports, spreadsheets and other related documentation as directed; Conducts supplier and material analysis and keep database updated; Assists and/or issues purchase order follow-up to ensure on-time deliveries and correct pricing, terms and specifications; Handles special projects research for the Purchasing department with the aim of improving department efficiency; Structure large data sets to find usable information; Support the correct procurement of parts and components in accordance with the PC's forecast, service plan and growth strategies, or related to the new product development projects. Support the development of suppliers to meet PC standards, in compliance with evolving requirements in regulations, safety, environment, and our rules. Support the analysis of existing and potential suppliers using ours procedures and standards to determine the supplier’s financial stability, technical capabilities, quality, logistics performance and cost structure. Specifically working on projects that will improve Purchasing profitability, quality and time-to-market. Supporting IT systems introduction and process integration with other departments. Challenging the status-quo by fostering innovation and bringing in new ideas.
