CSCS.IT is searching for a Project Manager for the implementation of on-going projects.

The incumbent will contribute to develop and refine strategies, to monitor tasks and KPIs of ongoing projects, draft presentation and information material for the promotion of the project, to supervise the financial budget of the current activities and to coordinate with other CSCS departments.

The expert is expected to work closely with all relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, CSCS project team members and consultants and private sector to perform the following specific tasks:

Tasks and responsibility

• Implementation of activities as required by the project

• Update future and foresight communication material and description to be used for communication with members and clients

• Develop a literature overview and organize background material

• Work closely with graphic designer to develop communication material on CSCS’s future and foresight activities

• oversee overall projects implementation to ensure timely delivery of outputs within the allocated budget

• in consultation with project team leaders, sector experts, resource persons, design a detailed implementation plan including project timelines, resources, workplans etc.

• prepare annual and semi-annual work plan updates 

• supervise full-time national administrative consultants of the projects

• review and revise periodically the cost estimates and projections and report any issues to project team leader

• coordinate with all consultants and staff working under the project to ensure the projects activities are well executed and represent CSCS approach

• validate all consultants’ claims and expenses and report any issues to project team leaders and project analysts

• manage any conflicts and issues on the ground related to the projects, including team performance, coordination with other relevant stakeholders etc.;

• monitor the project implementation progress and produce regular reports to CSCS and donors in a timely manner

• consult with sector experts, consultants, and resource persons, identify areas of support and intervention required for the development of the assigned projects 

• in coordination with financial management experts (CSCS staff and consultants), prepare financial management reports to CSCS on regular basis

• coordinate closely with government counterparts including executing and implementing agencies, partners and private sector to ensure synergies with other projects and high development impact

• advise relevant stakeholders on technical issues related to the projects implementation

• act as a country focal point for the projects and liaise closely with the project team leader for any issues on the ground, attend ad-hoc meetings on behalf of project team leader and international consultans

• work closely with project team in reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities for the project and 

• travel abroad to meet partners face to face 

• organise and manage or take part to international meetings online

• other tasks as reasonably requested by CSCS project team leaders

Qualification and Experience required

• University Degree

• Work experience in EU project management

• Italian language (ability to communicate accurately in writing and orally, ability to write proposals in Italian)

• English Language (ability to communicate accurately in writing and orally, ability to write proposals in English)

• Other EU languages are a plus (especially German and French) 

• Experience in working with EU institutions

• Able to work independently

• Service oriented, good organisational skills, good communication skills, eye for detail, team spirit

• Rigorous and able to meet deadlines and priorities

• Able to draft routine correspondence and edit materials

• Fully computer literate; relevant knowledge of softwares for project management and communication, word processing, graphic, database etc

• Experience in ERP is a plus

• Flexibility, adaptability and solidarity with co-workers

Additional experiences

• Projects in education sector (EU Commission, ADB, EUaid, USaid etc)

• H2020 and similar projects in particular

Work contract

• Italian national contract for commerce and services.

Il servizio di collocamento internazionale dell’Agenzia federale per l’impiego tedesca (Zav), in collaborazione con EURES Italia e i servizi per l’impiego della Baviera promuovono una nuova edizione del progetto "Vivere e lavorare in Germania", destinato a chi desidera lavorare nell’ambito dell’assistenza alle persone anziane e al contempo frequentare un corso di formazione finalizzato all’acquisizione della qualifica di infermiere geriatrico.

Requisiti per partecipare al progetto:

• età compresa tra i 23 e i 45 anni;

• diploma di maturità o qualifica professionale o l’assolvimento dell’obbligo scolastico (10 anni di studi);

• laureati (escluse professioni sanitarie) sono ammessi se non praticano la professione studiata da almeno 4 anni;

• motivazione ad intraprendere una formazione professionale duale in Germania che prevede di lavorare come ausiliario e contemporaneamente studiare per ottenere prima la qualifica di assistente sanitario (1 anno) e poi di infermiere geriatrico (3 anni) con assunzione;

• esperienza nell’assistenza di persone anziane (anche non lavorativa) e/o dimostrazione di essere molto motivato verso questa professione;

• disponibilità ad imparare il tedesco B2 ad un livello intensivo (basi linguistiche sono gradite, ma non fondamentali).

Articolazione del percorso formativo:
Il progetto prevede un percorso di alternanza scuola/lavoro (duale) ed è finalizzato al conseguimento delle seguenti qualifiche:

• assistente sanitario dopo il primo anno

• infermiere geriatrico dopo il quarto anno

You will join the (7-person) Development team in the ILL’s IT Service, where you will contribute to the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of our applications, software and tools and thus support our scientific research activities.

Your tasks
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the design and development of applications, tools and software in Java
• Writing general and detailed technical specifications, anticipating potential problems and future upgrades
• Managing software development tools (gitlab, automated deployment, CI/CD) and authentication protocols (OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.)
• Preparing and performing unit testing and making the necessary corrections following these tests or functional tests performed by users
• Correcting and optimising functionalities (quality, graphics, ergonomics, etc.)
• Documenting applications for later developments and deployment to production
• Participating in high-impact projects in collaboration with other large-scale European research institutes
• Communicating effectively and delivering presentations on technical subjects
• Monitoring trends in software development.

Your profile

• Level 3 to Level 6 qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent), together with significant professional experience in developing applications using Java, NodeJS and Angular.
• Experience in microservices would be appreciated.
• You have a good command of written and spoken English.
• You are flexible and able to respond proactively to the needs of our users whilst respecting development standards.
• You are also versatile and creative when it comes to identifying the right technical solutions.

Core mission
Your role will be to redesign the entire cryogenic system of the ILL’s high-flux reactor in order to ensure that it complies with the latest standards. In this key role, you will liaise with various internal stakeholders at the ILL, including the operational teams, the I&C engineers, the “nuclear manufacturing” engineers, the person in charge of operating the cryogenic system, the CAD technicians, the suppliers, and the inspection body for the construction and installation phases.

Your tasks

• Study and familiarise yourself thoroughly with the existing "Horizontal Cold Source" facility

• Study and familiarise yourself thoroughly with the work done to refurbish a similar experimental facility (the Vertical Cold Source) in 2005-2006

• Carry out the functional analysis of the future cryogenic system

• Produce specifications and monitor the performance of design studies.

• Propose solutions for the creation, refurbishment and/or replacement of equipment or process loops

• Produce specifications for the procurement and assembly of the new equipment or process loops

• Take part in the organisation of calls for tenders and supplier selection

• Monitor the manufacturing stages (procurement, machining, inspection, gap analysis, etc.) in collaboration with the nuclear manufacturing engineers

• Monitor the on-site assembly of the equipment or process loops and perform final acceptance tests (functional test, etc.)

• Update the internal regulatory documents relating to the reactor.

Your profile

• Level 7 qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent) in mechanical design and (if possible nuclear) process engineering.

• At least 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of equipment and/or process loops in the nuclear sector (nuclear quality assurance).

• Knowledge of physical measurements and instrumentation, as well as of design and construction codes of the type RCC-MRx (or RCC-M) for mechanical components for reactors, and of the standards EN 13480 and EN 13445.

• Self-starter with excellent writing skills (procedures, technical specifications, etc.) and interpersonal skills.

• You must have a sound knowledge of English and French; knowledge of German would be appreciated.
