FRANCIA - NUCLEAR WASTE TECHNICIAN

Context

The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is an international centre for fundamental research. It is Europe's leading centre for research using neutrons and operates the brightest neutron source in the world. You will join the ILL’s Radioactive Waste Management and Decontamination Group (GTDA), comprising a Head of Group, an engineer and four technicians.

 

Your tasks

As a technician within the GTDA group, which is part of the ILL’s Health Physics, Safety and Environment Service (SRSE), you will play a key role in the production of radioisotopes, the treatment and management of radioactive waste, and work operations performed in radioactive environments at the ILL.

 

This post is primarily related to the production of radioisotopes. Here you will have the following main duties:

  • Installing the containment tent on the hot cell roof and bringing the necessary equipment to the work site

  • Preparing the shielded casks (vinyl sheeting and bolting)

  • Removing the vinyl sheeting and decontaminating the casks once they are removed through the hot cell roof

In the context of radioactive waste management, you will have the following duties:

  • Collecting and sorting waste produced at the facility

  • Dismantling mechanical parts and cutting up bulky waste

  • Conditioning waste in the appropriate packaging

  • Assisting with waste characterisation using gamma spectrometry and with x-ray inspections of waste drums

  • Assisting with the loading of radioactive waste packages for transport

  • Performing on-site waste transport operations

In the context of work operations in radioactive environments, your duties will include:

  • Decontaminating specific areas (e.g. reactor pool, hot cell, active effluent tanks) and mechanical parts and tools

  • Assisting those working in a radioactive environment to put on and take off protective clothing and helping to maintain the radiological cleanliness of the work sites

  • Installing/dismantling containment tents

  • Glove box and hot cell operations:

    • removing items under containment conditions

    • decontamination operations

    • replacing gloves under containment conditions.

     

Your profile

  • You have a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) or have completed training as a radiation protection technician or as a technician specialising in radioactive waste management and work and decontamination operations in radioactive environments (or equivalent)

  • Experience of working in a nuclear environment is desirable

  • You have knowledge and experience of working in radioactive environments

  • You have expertise in dismantling and cutting techniques for metals

  • You are able to ensure strict application of procedures and have a meticulous approach to your work.

  • You are well organised and able to work independently

  • A strong team spirit is essential

Core mission
You will join the team of four technicians and one engineer in our Environmental Monitoring Laboratory, which is part of the ILL’s Health Physics, Safety and Environment Service (SRSE) and is responsible for environmental radiation monitoring on and in the vicinity of the ILL site. Your duties will be divided between work in the laboratory and fieldwork.ù

 

Your tasks
You will have the following duties:
Take environmental samples, prepare and analyse them in the laboratory, and interpret and record the results
• Operate and maintain 4 (fixed) environmental monitoring stations located outside the ILL site
• Write and update procedures and technical data sheets in compliance with the standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17025
• Carry out checks to ensure that equipment is working properly and is calibrated
• Assist with the periodic testing/inspection of monitoring station and laboratory equipment
• Calibrate and perform first-line maintenance of various equipment and measuring channels
• Organise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of certain equipment, taking into account the constraints of the laboratory
• Perform “emergency response” tasks in the event of a crisis or during emergency exercises, in particular by taking the laboratory vehicles out into the field to take the necessary samples and measurements
• Perform on-call duty for the Environmental Monitoring group (outside working hours, including weekends).
You will receive training to ensure that you are multi-skilled to perform these different tasks.
 
Your profile
You have a Level 4 or Level 5 technical qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent) in chemistry, instrumentation (physical measurements), health physics or Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
• You have some initial professional experience. Ideally, you have already worked in the nuclear sector and are familiar with the standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17025.
• You have been trained in the field of laboratory measurements, are familiar with the tools associated with metrology and are able to interpret and make use of information and/or technical data
• You are a meticulous team player who can also work independently.

Contexte du poste

Rejoignez notre équipe de quart (30 personnes réparties en 6 équipes de 5 personnes) au sein du Service Exploitation de la Division Réacteur de l’Institut. Les équipes de quart sont responsables du bon fonctionnement des installations du réacteur et du respect de la réglementation associée.

 

Vos fonctions

Sous la responsabilité d’un chef d’équipe (chef de quart), vous assurez les missions suivantes :

Assurer la surveillance des installations électriques en lien direct avec la sûreté du réacteur sur tous types de tensions : du 12V au 20KV et sur matériel de toutes générations (poste Haute tension, cellules HTA, relais de protection, transformateurs, tableaux Basse Tension, disjoncteurs, etc.).

Réaliser des diagnostics et la maintenance corrective des installations, à l’aide des plans et des schémas des installations électriques en tenant compte de l’environnement de travail et des risques associés (sécurité, sûreté, environnement ou radioprotection).

Réaliser des manœuvres de mise en sécurité (consignations).

Préparer et réaliser des essais périodiques.

Remonter et tracer les écarts constatés.

Mettre à jour la documentation existante.

Une capacité à analyser les situations avec un regard critique serait appréciée afin de poursuivre l’amélioration continue de l’installation.

 

Votre profil

Vous avez un diplôme de Bac à Bac+2 dans un domaine technique tel que : électrotechnique, contrôle industriel et régulation automatique, électronique, automatisme, maintenance industrielle.

Une expérience de 5 ans en maintenance électrique en milieu industriel ou nucléaire ou équivalent, est souhaitée.

Vous êtes reconnu·e pour votre rigueur (respect des consignes notamment), votre capacité d’adaptation, votre calme et votre capacité à travailler dans un cadre réglementaire.

Notre centre de recherche est unique au monde, vous avez donc une appétence pour la recherche de nouvelles connaissances.

The ILL’s Human Resources Service is continuing to pursue the digital transformation of its processes, in particular in the area of skills management and development. In this context, and in order to assist the HR team in managing these projects, we are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Project Officer.

Your tasks
You will have the following main duties:
Participating in the project to further develop the human resources information system (HRIS):

Coordinating with the supplier on the development of the tool (new functionalities), monitoring deliverables, integrating functionalities resulting from company agreements, and assisting users
• Assisting the HR team with the definition and digitisation of its processes and the deployment of HRIS tools (document sharing, workflow, etc.)
• Managing the HRIS.

Assisting the HR Service in defining and implementing company agreements (on job and career management (known as GEPP), training, remote working, etc.):

Participating in the revision of the agreements (possibly including participating in negotiations)
• Implementing GEPP-related measures: identifying critical positions/skills, assessing skills required for positions, putting in place associated action plans, anticipating changes to job profiles in the medium and long term
• Defining job profiles and skills
• Assisting managers in improving managerial practices (introduction of a manager training programme).

Cross-functional tasks:

Developing and automating the collection of mandatory data (e.g. for the ‘bilan social’ (annual report presenting key HR indicators), etc.) and reporting processes
• Managing the process for the annual and professional interview campaigns
• Managing the process for the salary advancement campaigns
• Providing operational assistance for the skills management process within the ILL’s Integrated Management System in order to comply with requirements of the Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire (French nuclear safety authority) (formalisation, skills monitoring, including mentoring)
• Providing support for the implementation of various HR projects.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of the Human Resources Service.

Your profile

Level 7 qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent) in human resources or management, or equivalent experience in these two fields
• We are looking for at least 10 years of professional experience in human resources development.
• A track record of successful experience in change management and HRIS implementation thanks to your excellent listening, organisational and HR project management skills.
• Experience in fostering good social relations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a sense of service, autonomy and a pragmatic approach.

Contexte
Rejoignez l’équipe « Pile Combustible & Sources Fluides » rattachée au Service Mécanique de la Division Réacteur de l’ILL.
Vous serez en charge, avec d’autres techniciens, de l’exploitation et de la maintenance des équipements de la cuve du réacteur dénommée "Bloc-Pile". Votre périmètre d’action s’étendra sur l’ensemble structures mécaniques internes du réacteur (barres de sécurité, barre de pilotage, doigts de gant neutroniques, canaux neutroniques, équipements d’expérimentation intégrés) et des installations associées (tampon de rejet différé, installations de pompage à vide…).

 

 

Vos missions

Vos missions seront notamment les suivantes :
• Réaliser les changements d’échantillons sur les équipements expérimentaux internes au bloc pile (changement de sources radioactives dans un doigt de gant par exemple).
• Préparer et réaliser les interventions de maintenance sur les équipements mécaniques en milieu ra-dioactif.
• Etudier et réaliser des modifications d’amélioration des installations, des outillages utilisés sur les chantiers.
• Suivre les interventions sous-traitées.
• Réaliser les essais périodiques règlementaires.
• Rédiger les procédures, spécifications techniques, comptes rendus, rapports, etc.
• Fournir une assistance occasionnelle à l’exploitation des autres installations du Groupe.
La fonction implique une très bonne autonomie à moyen terme et après formation par compagnonnage.

 

 

Votre profil

• BAC+ 2 en génie mécanique ou maintenance industrielle (ou équivalent), ou expérience équivalente dans ces deux domaines.
• La pratique de la maintenance d’équipements mécaniques au sein d’installations industrielles nucléaires est un plus.
• Personne de terrain et très bonne autonomie.
• Bonnes capacités rédactionnelles (procédures, spécifications techniques, comptes rendus techniques).
• Bonne capacité d’analyse.
• Esprit d’équipe, polyvalence, esprit d'initiative.
• Maîtrise de la langue française indispensable.
• Connaissance de la langue anglaise appréciée.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

EURES Agenzia Piemonte Lavoro is looking for 20 Educators to take part in a project to work in public nursery schools in and around Munich. The project consists in: 

  • living and working for a long time in Germany, 

  • learning Germany in Italy up to B1, 

  • Continuing learning German for 6 months in Germany in order to obtain a German B2 certificate (this certificate will be necessary to continue the project)  

An online information event will be held on 7 February 2024 and there will be a welcome event for those selected in the spring 

SKILLS: 

Holding a professional qualification in Early Childhood Education  

Laurea in Educatore di Nido e di Comunità Infantile  

Laurea in Educatore Professionale (di Comunità) 

PLACE OF WORK: In and around Munich 

WORK CONDITIONS: 

  • Permanent employment contract with a 6 month probationary period in a nursery school in the city or district of Munich   

  • Salary from 3.100 - 3.300 € per month before taxes   

  • Accommodation is provided at least for the first 6 months 

  • Financed German language course in Italy up to German level B1  

  • German language course in Munich up to German level B2 financed by the German Employment Agency, which will run parallel to part-time work   

  • Continuous training in the various pedagogical concepts
