We currently have a vacancy for a: Head of Recruitment and Integration

In order to maintain the ILL’s position as a centre of scientific and technical excellence, its Recruitment and Integration group faces a dual challenge: on the one hand, it must preserve the Institute’s international character and, on the other hand, it must adapt to a changing job market.
To meet this challenge, we are recruiting a Head of Recruitment and Integration.

Duties:
Reporting to the Head of the Human Resources Service, you will be responsible for defining a strategy to help the Institute to attract, recruit and onboard the best talent.
With the help of a 4-person team, you will have the following main duties:

• Identify the Institute’s precise recruitment needs and ensure that they are consistent with its HR strategy by acting as an internal consultant and liaising with managers and ILL Management

• Ensure the adequacy of the entire recruitment process, from the sourcing of candidates right through to their successful onboarding

• Coordinate all the activities involved in the recruitment process and participate in the recruitment of employees to fill senior/complex positions

• Manage and coordinate the dedicated recruitment team, supervising all the administrative formalities performed and contractual documents produced and verifying their legal compliance

• Enhance the ILL’s employer branding (participation in recruitment events, visibility on social networks, contacts with top universities)

• Optimise the recruitment process in order to satisfy the requirements of the broad spectrum of professions represented at the ILL.

Qualifications and experience:

• You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Human Resources Management with extensive experience of recruitment in an international environment

• You have developed good listening and communication skills and are able to show tact and diplomacy while at the same time convincing others of your ideas and asserting your own opinions

• You have excellent organisational skills, enabling you to manage your own priorities and set and monitor those of your team

• Prior experience in a managerial position would be an advantage; at the very least, you must be a recognised team player.

Language skills:
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. You must be fluent in written and spoken English and be willing to learn French (a language course will be paid for by the ILL). Knowledge of German would be an advantage.

Are you interested in joining our international institute? We currently have a vacancy for a : Scientific Instrumentation Technician.

Duties:
You will become a member of the ILL’s Services for Advanced Neutron Environment (SANE) responsible for the Institute’s sample environment equipment and its cryogenic systems in particular. You will mostly be working in the laboratory and experimental areas on the following tasks:

• maintain, troubleshoot, repair and configure equipment in consultation with your colleagues and hierarchy,

• assist colleagues and scientists to ensure the smooth operation of the experimental programme,

• produce and maintain technical documentation and provide occasional assistance with internal training,

• consult with colleagues and hierarchy on technical issues and troubleshooting,

• participate in the development of new sample environment equipment.

Qualifications and experience:
You have an NVQ Level 3 or 4 or equivalent qualification (e.g. BTEC HND) in applied physics and instrumentation, or equivalent with a few years of professional experience.
We also require a good mechanical background and a real desire to acquire more technical skills e.g. in brazing, TIG welding, or industrial drawing for example.
Knowledge and/or experience in cryogenics, high pressure/temperature and vacuum techniques (helium leak detection, etc.) would be an advantage.
You are a team player with good organisational skills and a service-oriented approach. These should ensure you work well with our visiting scientists and remain receptive to their requirements.

Language skills:
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. You must have a sound knowledge of English and be willing to learn French (a language course will be paid for by the ILL). Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
