The position calls for a qualified boatman to be part of a crew onboard one of our motor vessels. Main duties of this post will include but are not limited to.

• Regular maintenance of engine and motor vessel machinery

• Liaise with boat captain for daily Vessel Duties

Requirements

Duties:
You will work in the ILL’s European Office and will be involved in all aspects of project management. You will work closely with the ILL project leaders (scientists and engineers) and assist them in the financial management of their projects. You will have the following duties:

• Financial reporting (to the European Commission as well as 3-monthly interim reporting to the project coordinator) for several EU projects.

• Verify the compliance of existing financial reporting procedures at the ILL with the reporting rules set out in the Model Grant Agreement.

• Ensure the ongoing compliance of ILL’s financial reporting procedures with evolving EU regulations

• Prepare project management dashboards.

• Identify, report on and implement corrective actions and propose operational or strategic areas for improvement.

• Prepare and monitor EC and internal audits.

• Organise meetings (external/internal/virtual) and take minutes and notes.

• Collaborate, when necessary, in the setting-up of European projects, support the European Office with project coordination or participate directly in project implementation.

Qualifications and experience:

• You have a Master’s degree in European Governance (or equivalent qualification) or relevant previous experience (e.g. in a financial audit environment).

• Proven experience of managing research projects and a good understanding of grant application procedures.

• Experience in the management of research funding.

• You are passionate about science and its applications and feel comfortable communicating with scientific researchers and research managers.

The Science Division currently has a vacancy for an: Experiment Support and Instrument Technician

Duties:
As an experiment support and instrument technician, you will be responsible for the operation and development of experimental equipment and for providing support for experiments conducted at the ILL.
You will act as technical contact for the instrument D11 within the Large Scale Structures Group (LSS) and you will collaborate with the other technicians of the group. You will work closely with the scientists in charge of the instruments you will be assigned to (experimental stations). Depending on the needs of the different instrument groups, you may be asked to work in parallel on other instruments or laboratories within the Science Division.
D11 is a small-angle scattering instrument devoted to soft matter studies, with one of the highest turnovers at the ILL and experiments lasting one to three days. Within the LSS group, working in close collaboration with the instrument team, you will have the following duties:

• Carry out maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work on the instruments and associated equipment

• Assist in coordinating large technical projects

• Assist in-house and visiting scientists with the preparation of their experiments and advise instrument users on technical matters concerning sample environment and instrumentation during experiments

• Produce drawings, tune equipment and maintain technical documentations

• Participate in the design and development of equipment for D11 and other instruments of the LSS group or the ILL soft matter laboratories in collaboration with other ILL services

• Ensure compliance with the safety regulations on the instrument, particularly those related to nuclear safety.

 
Qualifications and experience:

• You have a Level 4/5 qualification (e.g. BTEC HNC/HND or equivalent) in applied physics and instrumentation or equivalent, with a few years of professional experience

• You are at ease with the use of commercial electronics and conventional physical measurement methods, such as optical, electrical or mechanical methods, for measuring pressures, liquid and gas flow control, etc.

• You have a practical approach to your work and are willing to learn new skills

• You can work independently on a wide variety of projects

• You possess the necessary interpersonal skills to work with staff and visiting scientists.

Fonctions :

Après une période de formation, visant à vous familiariser avec notre installation et notre système de management intégré (SMI), vous piloterez de façon autonome les interventions des équipes de terrain.
Les principales missions seront les suivantes :

• Rédiger les procédures de maintenance ou d’essais périodiques (trames déjà existantes),

• Assurer la planification et le suivi des maintenances et des essais périodiques avec les équipes de terrain,

• Mettre à jour le dossier de maintenance ou d’essais périodiques dans le logiciel de GMAO interne de l’ILL,

• Proposer des solutions pour la création, la rénovation et/ou le remplacement d’équipements ou de boucle de process,

• Réaliser les spécifications de conception ainsi que le suivi des études,

• Réaliser les spécifications d’approvisionnement et de montage de nouveaux équipements ou de boucles process,

• Participer aux appels d'offre et à la sélection des fournisseurs,

• Suivre les étapes de la fabrication (approvisionnement, usinage, contrôle, analyse d’écarts, etc.),

• Suivre les étapes de montages sur site de l’équipement ou de la boucle process et effectuer la recette finale (test de bon fonctionnement…),

• Mettre à jour le dossier réglementaire interne lié au réacteur.

 
La fonction implique une très bonne autonomie à court terme.
 
Formation / Expérience :

• Bac+5 (type diplôme ingénieur ou titre universitaire) en maintenance ou en conception mécanique, complété par une expérience professionnelle de 5 ans minimum,

• Expérience dans la maintenance d’équipements ou de boucles process dans le domaine du nucléaire (assurance qualité nucléaire),

• Connaissance dans la conception de procédés de traitement des fluides,

• Connaissance dans la conception mécanique (structures, SKID, …),

• Connaissances de codes de conception type RCC-MRx (ou RCC-M), normes 13480, 13445,

• Connaissance en mesures physiques et instrumentation,

• Très bonnes capacités rédactionnelles (procédures, spécifications techniques…),

• Assurer les opérations de manutention liées au combustible : opérations de chargement et de déchargement du combustible, changement d’eau à l’intérieur des hottes de manutention…,

• Assurer la maintenance des équipements des installations de manutention du réacteur : hottes de manutention du combustible, ponts et portiques de manutention, batardeaux, groupes électrogènes diesel…,

• Réaliser les inspections périodiques et les requalifications des équipements sous pression exploités par le groupe (vannes de hotte, vannes réacteur…),

• Exploiter et maintenir la cellule chaude dédiée à la découpe d’équipements irradiés,

• Gérer des chantiers depuis leur préparation jusqu'à la réalisation,

• Rédiger les procédures, spécifications techniques, comptes rendus et rapports, etc.,

• Préparer des navettes pour irradier des isotopes pour la recherche médicale puis passer en cellule chaude pour les découper afin de sortir les échantillons,

• Fournir une assistance occasionnelle à l’exploitation des autres installations du groupe.

La fonction implique une très bonne autonomie à court terme.
 
Formation / Expérience :

• BAC+2 ou 3 (type BTS, DUT, licence professionnelle ou équivalent) en génie mécanique ou maintenance industrielle avec une expérience de 5 ans minimum en maintenance industrielle,

• La pratique de la maintenance d’équipements mécaniques au sein d’installations nucléaires est un plus,

• Très bonnes capacités rédactionnelles (procédures, spécifications techniques, comptes rendus techniques),

• Personne de terrain et très bonne autonomie avec de bonnes capacités d’analyse,

• Esprit d’équipe, polyvalence, esprit d'initiative.
