Fonctions :
Au sein du groupe Hall d’Essai du Service Mécanique des Aires Expérimentales, vous réaliserez les missions suivantes :
  • montage, mise au point et maintenance d’ensembles mécaniques de précision, de guides de neutrons ou de machines tournantes,
  • réalisation et test de prototypes,
  • contrôle de pièces mécaniques.
Vous serez rattaché·e hiérarchiquement au responsable du groupe Hall d’Essais du SMAE.
 

Formation / Expérience :
  • Baccalauréat professionnel en génie mécanique ou en maintenance (ou équivalent) complété par une expérience d’au moins 5 ans dans le domaine de l’assemblage, le montage et la maintenance d’ensembles mécaniques de précision.
  • Des compétences en réglages et ajustements mécaniques sont requises et des compétences minimales en usinage (tournage + fraisage) afin de pouvoir réaliser des retouches de pièces ou des outillages simples nécessaires au montage sont un plus.
  • Autonome et rigoureux·se capable de conduire un chantier de montage d’instruments et de piloter d’autres techniciens sur des opérations de montage.
  • De bonnes aptitudes au travail en équipe. Transparence. Capacités à résoudre des problèmes de chantier et sens du service.

 
Connaissances linguistiques :
Le caractère international de notre centre de recherche nous amène à accorder une attention particulière aux candidatures provenant également d'autres pays que la France. De bonnes connaissances en français et en anglais sont requises. Des connaissances en allemand seraient un atout.
 

Observations :
Contrat à durée déterminée (CDD) de 16 mois.

The ILL’s Recruitment and Integration group is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment and integration process as well as some of the associated administrative formalities (employment contracts, contract amendments, etc.) in conjunction with the Personnel Administration and Payroll group. We recruit both in France and internationally in a variety of sectors such as science, engineering, high tech and support functions.
 

Duties:
You will provide administrative support within the Recruitment and Integration group, working in close collaboration with two other assistants.
As a member of this multi-skilled team, you will take charge of some of the group’s activities, which include:
  • Advertising job openings internationally, including on the different social media platforms
  • Tracking applications, organising interviews, communicating with applicants in French and English
  • Preparing employment contracts and amendments in compliance with French labour law
  • Dealing with residence formalities for non-French staff (visas, work permits)
  • Welcoming newcomers and helping to organise "welcome days"
  • Performing other administrative duties, including within the framework of the ILL’s internship and PhD programmes
  • Depending on your skills and experience, your duties could be extended to include other activities, such as sourcing and assisting with HR communication activities.

 
Qualifications and experience:

  • You have a Level 4 / Level 5 qualification (NVQ, BTEC HND or equivalent) in business and administration (administrative assistant) or in human resources management.
  • You have some professional experience in the field of HR, preferably in an international academic environment.
  • You are proficient in MS Office and have a strong interest in the use of IT tools.

Elle recherche :

Fonctions :
Au sein du Groupe Pile, Combustible et Sources de notre service Mécanique, en charge de l’exploitation et de la maintenance des équipements du réacteur, vous assurez les missions principales suivantes :

  • Réaliser les changements d’échantillons sur les équipements expérimentaux internes au bloc pile ;
  • Préparer et réaliser les interventions de maintenance sur les équipements mécaniques en milieu radioactif ;
  • Etudier et réaliser des modifications d’amélioration des installations ;
  • Suivre les interventions sous-traitées ;
  • Réaliser les essais périodiques règlementaires ;
  • Rédiger les procédures, spécifications techniques, comptes rendus, rapports…
  • Fournir une assistance occasionnelle à l’exploitation des autres installations du groupe.
La fonction implique une très bonne autonomie à court terme.    
 
Formation / Expérience :
  • BAC+2 ou 3 (type BTS, DUT, licence professionnelle ou équivalent) en génie mécanique ou maintenance industrielle et une expérience de 5 ans minimum en maintenance industrielle ;
  • La pratique de la maintenance d’équipements mécaniques au sein d’installations nucléaires est un plus ;
  • Très bonnes capacités rédactionnelles (procédures, spécifications techniques, comptes rendus techniques) ;
  • Personne de terrain avec une très bonne autonomie et de bonnes capacités d’analyse ;
  • Esprit d’équipe, polyvalence, esprit d'initiative.

We currently have a vacancy for a Storekeeper

 

Duties:
Sharing your work time between the ILL’s Administration Division (50%) and Reactor Division (50%), you will carry out a variety of tasks for these two entities.
When working for the Purchasing Service within the Administration Division, you will take on the role of Storekeeper in the ILL stores. Your main duties will include:

  • Stocking stores items and distributing goods received to the users of the stores

  • Managing and replenishing the stores stock

  • Scanning delivery notes

  • Supplying certain items of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Interfacing with the other stores on the EPN campus (joint ILL/ESRF stores and goods collection area)

  • Replacing one of the ILL’s other storekeepers when they are absent.   

When working for the Mechanical Engineering Service within the Reactor Division, you will assist with the development of a maintenance plan for the so-called “EIP” equipment (Eléments Importants pour la Protection) for which the Service is responsible. These are structures, equipment or systems which contribute to preventing the risks and detrimental effects that a nuclear facility may present for public health and safety and to protecting the environment. Your main duties will include:

  • Working alongside an engineer to assist with the implementation of the maintenance plan for the EIP equipment: scanning, archiving and integrating information in the in-house software application GIRAFE.

  • Helping define the layout of the new workshop and storage facility for nuclear safety-related EIPs (known as EIP-S) for the Fluids Group in the Mechanical Engineering Service: transfer of archives and EIP equipment, conversion of two ILL buildings, storage and labelling of equipment, fitting out of the new storage facility in collaboration with the Fluids Group.

  • Transferring raw materials from the ILL to an off-site storage zone located in Champs-sur-Drac.

 
The percentage of working time devoted to each of these assignments may change depending on the needs of the two Services concerned.
 

Qualifications and experience:

  • You have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in logistics (NVQ or equivalent) and some initial experience of stock management.

  • You are well organised and have a meticulous approach to your work. You are team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Practical experience of IT tools is desirable.

  • You must have a forklift operator licence.

The Projects and Techniques Division, which is responsible for the development of the ILL’s scientific instruments and for technical support, currently has the following vacancy: Head of Network and Data Services Group

 

Duties:
The Network and Data Services Group (5 to 10 team members) is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the ILL network, including data storage (including experimental data), general infrastructure services (email, authentication, internet access, etc.) and network user support. As Head of this Group, your main duties will include:
  • Managing the team;
  • Handling the Group’s budget, prioritizing projects and monitoring expenditure;
  • Designing upgrades for ILL’s IT infrastructure in collaboration with the Head of the IT Service;
  • Participating in a DevOps transition (culture and tools);
  • Creating, leading and monitoring the execution of various local and European projects;
  • Performing emergency technical maintenance;
  • Acting as a member of the EPN campus IT technical team.
To take up the position of Head of the NDS Group, you must have an expert knowledge of IT architecture and be able to familiarise yourself rapidly with ILL’s IT infrastructure. You must therefore be able to learn autonomously.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant IT diploma;
  • Very high level of technical expertise in Linux systems (mainly “Debian”);
  • Very high level of technical expertise in system and network architectures;
  • At least 10 years’ experience of working with complex system, network and storage architectures;
  • Team leadership and/or project management experience;
  • Proven ability to be thorough, proactive and open to new collaborations, and to develop innovative solutions.

We currently have a vacancy for a: Health Physics Technician

Duties:
The principal duty of the ILL health physics technicians within the Health Physics, Safety, and Environment Service is to assist in the provision of radiation protection for staff working on ILL’s High-Flux Reactor installations and experimental instruments. They participate therefore in the following:
  • Preparing and monitoring operations involving the risk of irradiation and contamination,
  • Taking radiological measurements in the installations, performing counts and analyses in the laboratory, and interpreting the results,
  • Periodically testing the proper functioning of the health physics instruments,
  • Drafting reports, technical notes and instructions,
  • Basic repairs to the fixed or mobile health physics instruments,
  • Assisting in the provision of mandatory health physics training.
As regards laboratory measurements, it should be noted that the "effluents" laboratory in which the health physics technicians perform the measurements operates in accordance with ISO 17025 standards.
Following a period of training, you may be required to perform stand-by safety duties and therefore to work outside the Institute’s normal working hours.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Health physics technician level 4 qualification (NVQ, BTEC HND or equivalent),
  • Professional experience in a radioactive environment (5 years),
  • Experience in a radioactivity measurements laboratory and in the use of the NF EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard would be appreciated,
  • The ability to work both alone and in a team, with a sense of initiative and a methodical approach.

Systems and Network Administrator

Duties:
As an enthusiastic member of the ILL’s “Network and Data Services” group, you will take an active part in the following activities:
  • Design and implementation of new solutions,
  • Assisting with technical projects for the ILL's IT Service,
  • Maintenance of existing systems in operational condition.

You will also be involved in support, maintenance and development activities in the following areas:

  • systems and network services (100 servers),
  • storage systems ( ~ 1PB),
  • systems for archiving, accessing and analysing experimental data,
  • the network (200 switches/routers and 150 access points).
 
Qualifications and experience:
You must have a Level 5 qualification (HND or equivalent) together with some initial professional experience in systems and network administration.
We are looking for a dynamic team player who is proactive in putting forward ideas and solutions and can make a valuable contribution to the management of projects.

Mandatory IT skills:

  • Proficiency in Debian/Ubuntu GNU/Linux,
  • Experience in the use of an automation tool (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.),
  • Basic knowledge of network administration (VLAN, IP routing, firewalling),
  • Basic knowledge of storage systems (ZFS, GPFS, Ceph, etc.).

Fonctions :
Vous intégrerez l’une des six équipes de quart du Service Exploitation, chargée du fonctionnement du réacteur (chaque équipe est composée d’un chef de quart et de quatre techniciens d’exploitation).
En tant que Technicien·ne d’exploitation, sous la responsabilité d’un chef d’équipe (chef de quart), vos missions principales seront de :
  • Surveiller l’état des équipements et installations et leur conformité avec les spécifications techniques d'exploitation,
  • Diagnostiquer les éventuelles pannes et déterminer les actions correctives,
  • Mettre en sécurité les installations du réacteur pour les opérations de maintenances,
  • Préparer et réaliser les essais périodiques, ainsi que les essais avant démarrage du réacteur,
  • Rédiger et mettre à jour les documents d’exploitation (procédures, consignes),
  • Etudier et réaliser des modifications pour l’amélioration des conditions d’exploitation.

Vous travaillerez en horaire posté en service continu (2 x 12h).
 

Formation / Expérience :

  • Titulaire d’un Bac+2 (BTS, DUT ou équivalent) en Génie Industriel et Maintenance, Génie Mécanique et Thermique, Génie Mécanique et Productique, vous justifiez d’au moins deux à trois ans d'expérience dans un contexte industriel.
  • Vous êtes autonome, rigoureux·se et organisé·e et avez de bonnes capacités rédactionnelles. Vous êtes capable de travailler seul·e ou en équipe, vous avez un sens du service développé et savez prendre des initiatives tout en respectant le cadre réglementaire.
  • Une expérience concrète en exploitation dans un environnement à risques industriels est un atout.
  • Votre diplomatie et votre capacité d’adaptation sont des atouts pour ce poste. Vous faites preuve d’un bon sens critique et possédez des capacités pour travailler en situation de stress.
