Rattaché·e au groupe Hall d'essais du Service Mécanique des Aires Expérimentales (SMAE) de la Division Projets Techniques (DPT), vous travaillez au sein de l’équipe en charge des opérations de montage mécanique et maintenance des instruments scientifique et des guides de neutrons de l’ILL.

Vos fonctions

• Montage et Alignement de lignes de guides de neutrons de l’ILL

• Montage mécanique, mise au point et maintenance d’ensembles mécaniques de précision, de machines tournantes ou d’autres ensembles mécaniques

• Usinage/tournage pour retouches et ajustements nécessaires de pièces sur machines-outils.

• Par ailleurs, vous pourrez être amené·e à réaliser et tester des prototypes ou contrôler des pièces mécaniques.

Votre profil

• Bac+2 en mécanique ou maintenance ou équivalent

• Une expérience avec des moyens de contrôle tridimensionnels type MMT ou bras de mesures ou des connaissances en techniques d’alignement optique (utilisation de théodolite), par mesures 3D (laser tracker + logiciel de mesures 3D) et une forte motivation pour acquérir la maitrise de ces techniques sont souhaitées.

• Compétences en usinage (tournage + fraisage), montage mécanique et contrôle dimensionnel de

Key responsibilities: - Plan, carry out and supervise process experiments and trials in laboratories, pilot plants and factories. - Work closely with specialists in Composite Engineering and Mechanics and Chemistry on new product development, and determine how new products can most efficiently be manufactured. - Scale up the production process and determine and define process parameters to ensure quality is maintained during large-scale production - Implement new process solutions and best practices globally across the company’s production sites - Research and describe salient process parameters in the pultrusion process and investigate how they interact. - Work closely with colleagues in Chemistry and Materials Science to characterize composite materials from the pultrusion process. - Use scientific methods to understand relationships between input materials, process conditions, and product properties and characteristics. - Investigate the causes of defects and invent improvements to the process. - Develop insights and methods to control the process ever more precisely, with higher efficiency, better quality and less waste. - Work closely with Operations to implement your solutions in operational practice.

REQUISITI

Esperienza: Knowledge and experience optimizing industrial processes. - Expertise statistical process analysis and Experimental Design (DoE). - Sound experimental skills and knowledge. - Experience with composite materials processes is a strong plus. - Experience with FTIR, DSC, DMA, Microscopy and Rheometry is a plus. - Experience in scaling up manufacturing processes from laboratory to pilot to full scale manufacturing is a strong plus. - Experience with numerical process simulation is a plus.

Core mission
You will join the team of four technicians and one engineer in our Environmental Monitoring Laboratory, which is part of the ILL’s Health Physics, Safety and Environment Service (SRSE) and is responsible for environmental radiation monitoring on and in the vicinity of the ILL site.

Your tasks
In your role as an environmental monitoring technician, you will have the following duties:

• Take and analyse environmental samples on the basis of predefined procedures (ϒ/α/β spectrometry, liquid scintillation ); critically analyse the results of measurements

• Draft procedures and instructions and update them as and when necessary (in the light of audits, regulations, standards, lessons learned, etc.)

• Write reports and assessments on environmental monitoring activities and contribute to the preparation of the annual report

• Take samples and perform measurements in the field as required during radiological emergencies and emergency response exercises (use of laboratory vehicles).

In your role as a metrologist, you will be responsible for the technical and administrative management of a pool of measuring equipment in compliance with the standard ISO 17025. You will be expected to:

• Troubleshoot, organise and coordinate the repair of equipment in the event of a malfunction

• Oversee and organise monitoring of the laboratory’s metrology activities (calibration, verification, drafting of specifications, analysis of tenders and management of outsourcing)

• Assist with the management of laboratory consumables (stock management, purchasing, etc.)

• Operate the radiation monitoring stations and the meteorological station located outside the site and ensure that these stations remain in good working order, in compliance with the requirements of the decree (‘Arrêté’) of 3 August 2007.

This versatile position (combining laboratory and off-site fieldwork) involves on-call duty (outside working hours, including weekends).

Your profile

• You have a Level-4 or Level-5 technical qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent) in chemistry, instrumentation (physical measurements), health physics or Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)

• Experience of working in the nuclear sector within a nuclear quality assurance framework and familiarity with the standard NF EN ISO / IEC 17025 would be an advantage

• As a specialist in laboratory measurements, you are proficient in the use of the tools associated with metrology and are able to interpret and make use of information and/or technical data

• You are a meticulous team player who can also work independently.
